Ani: Iraqiya is about to make important decision, there is need to review Erbil agreements
Baghdad (NINA) – Iraqiya official, Dhafir al-Ani, described current political situation of being dangerous and difficult, pointing out that Iraqiya is about to make in the coming days important decisions.

Ani said in a press conference held after the meeting of Iraqiya's Coordination Body and was attended by the Slate's leader, Iyad Allawi, "The political process's partners have abandoned the principles of partnership; making the current era sensitive and difficult."

He added, "Iraqiya Slate feels that there is an urgent need to review Erbil agreements and it is for the political blocs to decide their stand with regards to the agreements.

For his part, the Slate's leader, Iyad Allawi, said that Iraqiya has yielded its legitimate right, so it would not be an obstacle in freeing the Iraqis from the stalemate they are experiencing, but what is going on is stalling and clear disavowal from all political commitments, especially with regards to Barazani's initiative, on which current government was formed.

He demanded holding an open session of Parliament to debate whether American forces are to stay in Iraq or leave, making the position of all political forces and the government known.

As for naming nominees for the post of Defence Minister, Allawi said that Iraqiya has, so far presented nine names they all been rejected on various accuses, such as his grand father was a Baathist or one of his relatives was a Qaeda affiliate, and so on
