Foreign Minister met on 22/05/2011 Ad Melkert, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General , and UNAMI experts.
The two sides discussed Iraq's relations with the United Nations and the Iraqi-Kuwaiti relations, progress achieved in the Kuwaiti humanitarian file, and the government's actions towards detecting missing Kuwaiti people and property.
They also discussed the issue of Mubarak port in Bubiyan Island and the government's steps to deal with the matter out of tension and escalation in a way that serve interest of the two countries and peoples.
The two sides discussed procedures and technical facilitations for the UN mission ( UNAMI )in Iraq.
In other part of the meeting which was attended by Mr. Ali al Moumen ,Kuwait's ambassador in Iraq, they emphasized on the need to address bilateral issues within the framework of the Iraqi - Kuwaiti Ministerial Committee, and the need to be sure of the facts around the port Mubarak, and to keep positive connection between the two countries to clarify the situation for of the public opinion.
